The Role:
This position is within our Land Systems business area as part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in training and simulation. Since 1994, Saab has held a Training and Simulation contract, playing an integral role in collective and individual training. With around 200 exercises supported each year, Operations Managers are accountable for planning and delivering Field Team and equipment support for these exercises.
In this role, you will coordinate the operational delivery of the DFWES contract, overseeing all areas of operational delivery and empowering the operations managers to effectively run individual exercises.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Operational Delivery:
- Liaise with the customer to coordinate DFWES support, advising on equipment, manpower, and availability.
- Allocate Field Teams to operations managers.
- Manage all Field Team resources efficiently.
- Provide direction and taskings for the Field Teams.
- Build and manage relationships with British Army training establishments to ensure successful training delivery.
- Coordinate with the Training and Logistic Manager and Comms Manager to deconflict resource allocation.
- Implement improvements to ways of working.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of British Army training doctrine and structure.
- Support Capability Exploitation and Marketing activities where necessary.
- Ensure Operational Requirement Documents are in place for each exercise.
Commercial/Financial:
- Monitor monthly contractor invoices for accuracy against planned commitments.
- Compile Operational Requirement documents to support pricing for extra contractual exercises.
- Attend DFWES progress meetings and report on trends.
- Identify opportunities for organic growth and new sales.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Level 6 qualification (BA, BSc) or higher.
- Leadership and Management qualification Level 5 or higher.
- Project Management qualifications Level 5 or higher.
- Combat Arm Battle Group Staff Officer experience.
- Driving Licence (B+E).
As this role requires National Security Vetting, applicants must either hold National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or have the ability to obtain it.
