Job Description

Operations Manager – SC Cleared – Defence

We are on the lookout for a talented Operations Manager, preferably with experience as an ex-Navy Commander. This role requires background in estate management, stakeholder engagement, and project or operational leadership. Experience in strategic staff roles providing high-level support within naval or joint headquarters would be highly appreciated.

This position is crucial to one of the UK’s most significant defence programmes. As dedicated partners to establishments in the defence sector, our teams play a vital role in protecting national security.

Long Term Programme

Multiple Locations: Plymouth

£230 – £350 per day (Inside IR35)

Due to our ongoing success, we are expanding our community of consultants to meet both current and future demands from our defence portfolio, especially within one of the largest Defence frameworks in the UK, which we have proudly supported for over 5 years.

Our consultants are deployed into large-scale programmes/projects to provide expert knowledge to foster sustainable and long-term change, ultimately adding value to each project or programme.

We are seeking experience across the following areas:

  • Oversee Facilities Management Operations: Ensure the effective management and maintenance of facilities, upholding high standards of operational readiness and compliance.
  • Contract and Supplier Management: Lead the selection, negotiation, and monitoring of suppliers and contractors, ensuring that service delivery meets organisational requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting collaboration and clear communication across defence programmes.
  • Project and Operational Leadership: Manage and coordinate essential projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and objectives are met while sustaining operational efficiency.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute strategic initiatives to support organisational goals, leveraging experience in high-pressure and complex environments.
