Join Our Team as a Composite Technician/Aircraft Fitter!
We are excited to announce a permanent opportunity for a Composite Technician or Aircraft Fitter to be trained in Composites. This role is based at RAF Brize Norton, located in Carterton, Oxfordshire, OX18 3LX.
Working Hours and Benefits
This is a full-time position, offering:
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- A 9-day fortnight with 25 stand down days per year
- 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
Salary
We provide a competitive salary ranging from £38,095.10 to £40,515.21, depending on your experience and skills, along with additional benefits.
Main Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Utilizing your current working knowledge of laminating and trimming composite materials, including Carbon fibre and Fibreglass.
- Competency in operating workshop machines and hand tools.
- Interpreting and working from engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions.
- Accessing technical information and maintenance records through functional IT skills.
- Documenting all work performed and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating effectively with team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Certifying all repairs and rectification tasks, ensuring accurate and complete maintenance records.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Hands-on experience with laminating and trimming composite materials.
- A recognized qualification (BTEC/ONC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or relevant military training in Advanced Composite Repairs.
- Previous experience in the Armed Forces or industry related to composite manufacture, maintenance, or repair.

Our client proudly supports the RAF and MoD by delivering around 20 different services, including engine and aircraft maintenance, as well as fuelling and ground control services. The structures bay is primarily responsible for structural and composite repairs on RAF Brize Norton’s C-17 aircraft. Work will be conducted both in the structures bay and directly on the aircraft, often requiring operation in confined spaces and at heights.

Security Clearance
MoD Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the organization, all employees are required to obtain SC (Security Check) level clearance. Successful applicants will receive support throughout the SC process. Generally, candidates should have been UK residents for the last 5 consecutive years.
